The Fallen Sons Memorial Fund supports our mission of strengthening communities by extending the continuum of care beyond the initial recovery treatment experience. The Fallen Sons Memorial Fund benefits volunteers and employees of TWC who have a desire to give back to the community by pursuing an education and a career in addiction recovery.
The combination of lived experience and formal education is a powerful and effective formula for strengthening the resources within the recovery community.
The Fallen Sons Memorial Fund was created in 2016 by Together We Can as a means to help our staff members further their educational goals and careers. A majority of TWC’s 70 staff members are in recovery themselves and have been through a treatment program, building a brand-new life that they and their families can be proud of.
Together We Can believes that addicts in recovery deserve fair and easy access to education that will help them to continue succeeding and improving their own circumstance.
Education is a gift, and we want to keep giving that gift long after a person is done treatment. Donations made in honour or in memory of an individual are directed to this fund unless otherwise noted.
In 2020, The Fallen Sons Memorial Fund invested $27,000 in helping 22 people achieve their educational goals. This year, we would like to raise $33,000 to help meet the growing demand for these education benefits.
