We are thrilled to introduce Your Healing: Next Steps, an advanced extension of TWC’s highly popular Family & Friends Education Group.


This new series is crafted to elevate your understanding and skills in supporting a loved one after completing substance use treatment.


Program Overview


Your Healing: Next Steps builds on the foundational knowledge gained in TWC’s Family & Friends Education Group. It is designed to address the complex issues that may arise as your loved one continues their recovery journey. This program provides practical tools and insights to help you navigate these challenges effectively. This program works on a 4-week cycle, starting the first Tuesday of every month.


What You Will Learn


1. Navigating Possible Relapse:

  • Equip yourself with strategies to identify early warning signs of relapse and implement proactive measures to address them.
  • Techniques for monitoring and managing relapse risk, intervention strategies, and support mechanisms.


2. Attachment Theory and Communication Skills:

  • Enhance your ability to communicate effectively and understand the dynamics of attachment in the context of recovery.
  • Insights into how attachment styles affect communication, practical exercises for improving dialogue, and methods for fostering a supportive relationship.

3. Setting Boundaries:

  • Learn to establish and maintain healthy boundaries while supporting your loved one.
  • Strategies for creating clear, respectful boundaries, managing codependency, and ensuring mutual respect in your interactions.

4. Trauma and PTSD:

  • Develop skills to support your loved one in dealing with trauma and PTSD related to their substance use history.
  • Approaches for understanding trauma responses, providing effective support, and recognizing when professional help is needed.

5. Wellness and Resiliency:

  • Focus on your own well-being to maintain balance and resilience.
  • Content: Techniques for self-care, stress management, and building personal resilience to enhance your ability to support your loved one effectively.
