2019 TOGETHER WE CAN CANADIAN CHAMPION AWARDS
Together We Can is the name of our organization, but it’s also a way of life. Our society is filled with men and women who contribute to the greater good every single day of their lives. Men and women who, despite their massive personal success, never forget where they came from and the fact that there are people who are less fortunate.
As an organization, we strive to make the local community, British Columbia, and the country as a whole a better place for everyone. By helping one man at a time, we are able to fulfil our mission and better society.
This year, we’ve decided to honour select individuals for the exceptional contribution they make towards the Together We Can philosophy and way of life.

Together We Can is a not-for-profit addiction recovery & education society committed to providing a launching pad for men to get back to living their best lives. We facilitate 60-90 day primary care programs, followed by transitional housing for up to 18 months after. We currently operate 5 unique facilities that serve each and every demographic group. We currently house 350 clients at a time, making us the largest treatment centre in Western Canada.
Elevate: A small 8 bed, private facility located in Burnaby serving veterans and self-pay clients. Offerings include low client to staff ratio, as well as private chef and rooms.
Solid Ground: A luxurious, private environment located in Anmore serving veterans and self-pay clients. The location and facility make this program an ideal healing destination for those who need to get away.
TWC Main Centre: A large 80-bed facility serving unions, private individuals, veterans and ministry clients. Our administrative offices and main hub are located on site.
Alliance: The only LGBTQ program in all of Canada. Serving 24 clients at a time, there is a mixture of self-pay and ministry clients. Did you know that Alliance enters a float into the Pride Parade each year? Last year we did a “jungle float”.
All My Relations: One of two indigenous programs located in British Columbia, our Surrey-based facility was opened in 2017 and is thriving. Did you know that indigenous people are 5 times more likely to die from an overdose than any other Canadian? We help.
Veterans Group: We facilitate weekly veteran and first responders meetings. This is one of a number of initiatives that have allowed our success rates to be unmatched in this demographic of client.
Music Therapy: Offered as part of the curriculum for all clients at TWC, the music therapy program allows individuals to express themselves in an artistic fashion.
Yoga of 12 Step Recovery: Facilitated by staff member Annie McCullough, Y12SR is a modern approach to yoga. Utilizing the practices of trauma-informed care, clients are offered the chance to find themselves through this ancient practice.
Family Program: Addiction affects everyone in the family. Our family program provides tools for everyone to heal. We now offer a Family Anonymous meeting for parents, wives, and loved ones.
The Summer Slam: The recovery event of the summer is now in its 4th year. This year the field of teams and people in attendance doubled. We love hosting this slo-pitch event for athletes and viewers alike.
Alumni Round-Ups: One of the dangers for our clients, when they complete treatment, is getting away from what has got them sober. We have enhanced and revitalized our alumni program by putting on quarterly round-ups. These events are in addition to our Thursday night alumni meeting.
Help make 2019 a year to be remembered.
