UPDATED OCTOBER 30, 2020
Together We Can continues to provide life-saving mental health and addiction services through the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be assured that we are taking extra precautions to protect the health and safety of our residents, staff, and volunteers. At this time, we ask that no one visit any of our properties without prior approval from management. Restrictions to some programs, extracurricular activities and services are also in effect.
Below is important information about new steps we are taking to meet the challenge of Covid-19. In the current climate, the health and well-being of our entire community — including each of you — is at the forefront of our thinking. These decisions were designed to make TWC safer for everyone — and today we announce several important steps:
Events – Planned community events, meetings, outings and tours have been cancelled effective immediately.
Personal Hygiene – All residents, volunteers and staff are required to limit physical contact between each other and have been instructed to continually sanitize or wash their hands.
Pre-Admission Screening – New intakes will be screened by our medical team prior to physical intake at any of our centres. We are also working closely with the local health authority to expedite testing if required.
Personal Protective Equipment – All staff have been supplied a reusable face covering and are required to wear it when working in close proximity to clients and other staff members. Staff members handling client belongings and/or medications are required to sanitize their hands and wear gloves.
Sanitization – Our cleaning staff, client care specialists and volunteers will be increasing daily cleaning duties and sanitization procedures. Additional hand sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the buildings and bottles are readily available in group rooms, counselling office and recreation spaces.
Visitors – Visitation from outside family members and friends is going to be immediately limited. For more information, please contact your loved one’s case manager or our reception at 604.451.9854.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
