Make a Difference In Someone Else’s Recovery
Staying connected and involved at Together We Can is a vital aspect of recovery for men leaving our Residential Treatment Program. Once clients have successfully concluded their stay, they will have the opportunity to assist Together We Can staff in a number of different capacities.
Networking opportunities in the recovery community are limitless as a volunteer, and for many this position leads to employment and educational opportunities.
The idea of “giving back” to the community is a core principle taught at TWC and for many clients volunteering after treatment eases the transition into work and/or school.
If you are a client who is still figuring out what they want to do after treatment, volunteering at Together We Can would be the perfect stepping stone for you. Volunteer experience is also extremely valuable on a resume when one is applying for jobs after treatment.
We will need individuals to help us with our upcoming fundraising events and there are a variety of opportunities within the community we would love you to become involved in.
Past Initiatives TWC Volunteers Have Participated In Include:
- Sold 50/50 tickets at a Vancouver Giants Game and a BC Lions Game
- Traffic control, setup and teardown at Recovery Day 2016 in New Westminster
- Doughnut Dash 5 Km Run at the PNE for the Heart Of Hope Foundation
- Alumni Outreach Street Team
- Information booths at past Vancouver and North Shore AA Roundups
If you are nearing the end of your stay and want to volunteer, contact

“I volunteer at Together We Can because it keeps me connected to the place where I cleaned up. I found freedom and a new path of recovery here, and so my volunteer position helps me show others the way.”
– Joshua, TWC Volunteer
“I do what I do because someone did it for me. My peers looked after me in the beginning.”
– James, TWC Volunteer
