Tyler is the Indigenous Cultural Coordinator, connecting indigenous men with cultural resources to help them heal. He loves that every day is a new adventure where he meets new people and has many interesting experiences through cultural activities. Both his academic and practical experience have helped him in his role. He has a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Aboriginal Studies, combined with graduate research that has allowed him to understand the state of indigenous people in Canada. Tyler studied the traditional teachings with elders in the Prairies and now studies with elders on the West Coast and he employs both areas of knowledge to effectively help indigenous men in the program. One of the most interesting traditional teachings he received was how to prepare moose nose soup which is a delicacy on the Prairies. Despite sharing this with the kitchen staff, it has been challenging to have moose nose soup added to the TWC menu.
