Partnered with Jeffery Norell of Pacific Interventions, our Private Program was created for families who want the full range of services tailored to their needs. Taking part over the course of a weekend, wherever you are located, families are asked to put everything on the table and engage in honest discussion, reflection and ultimately change. The entire family is brought together and together, we find common ground. We all want the same thing: purpose, happiness, clarity and a bright future, but we don't always know how to make that happen. When we have an addict in the family, our way forward becomes that much murkier. This program is for you.

Nothing we had done up until this program had worked, I think we needed someone that would cut to the chase, explain our predicament, and rally everyone behind our common cause. Jeff listened to us, but he was willing to tell us the truth, regardless of how hard it was to hear. Finally our family can work together because we understand that we can be part of the solution.

-Grateful Mother

When formulating this program, we had a number of potential candidates to run it, but no one quite fit the bill like Jeff. As a man who has overcome his own demons, healed an untold number of relationships and formulated an evidence-based approach that bears fruit, Jeff was the perfect leader of this program. He is what we call a modern-day Addiction Specialist; with industry-leading Intervention success rates, a lengthy Counselling track record and the ability to be firm and direct while remaining compassionate and thoughtful, we know you're in great hands.

Formulated over time to address the inherent needs of families struggling with the blowback and fall out of a loved one struggling with addiction, this intensive program gets beneath the surface and explores practical solutions to the complicated problems you face. You utilized the resources at your disposal to help your husband, son, brother, nephew or cousin, and now it's time to position the family to present a united and supportive front.

Based on a customized CRAFT Model (Community Reinforcement And Family Training), we utilize a non-confrontation, evidence-based curriculum designed to reintegrate the family and rebuild the relationships that we all know have been suffering. We build ourselves up to set boundaries, drop resentments and formulate a viable path forward. We want you to have an understanding of addiction disorders, but you'll also need communication skills to manage everything going forward.

You weren't necessarily the problem, but you are the solution.

Together We Can views addiction as a disease that negatively impacts not only individuals, but their families and loved ones too.

Many people who are impacted by a loved one’s addiction feel utterly confused and helpless. They wonder where they went wrong or what they could have done differently. The family program offers answers to these questions and more.

Having the support of family is critical for recovery. When a family is properly educated about the illness of addiction, they are better able to set clear and firm boundaries.

TWC offers a comprehensive, four session family support program that educates and supports family members to better understand addiction. The sessions are a source of knowledge, support and connection for family members. Sharing similar experiences in a safe and comforting environment allows families to heal together.

The Family Support Program is FREE of charge to the family members of TWC clients and takes place every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30pm at TWC Centre, 2831 Kingsway, Vancouver. It is also presented as a one-day workshop one Saturday each month.

We have recently begun providing our space for a Families Anonymous meeting each Wednesday night from 7 PM to 8:30 PM. All members of the public and anyone who has been impacted by the addiction of a loved one is invited to attend. This is a forum to privately discuss the past, present and future in a safe and healthy way with others who have dealt with the same issues.

"Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities"

For those who are unable to attend in person, TWC also offers an Online Family Support Program. Just like the in-person program, the online curriculum offers counselling. Online counselling is done via video conference.

The Online Family Support Program is available to families of TWC clients for FREE. Online sessions take place every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30pm. To register for the next online session or for more information, please email or call 604-359-4604.

The online counselling support program is facilitated exclusively by Carol Anne Turbitt. Carol Anne utilizes a compassion-based approach, designed to bring the entire family unit closer together. Carol Anne, who has 27 years of sobriety, and is active in her own recovery, has an intimate knowledge of what the individual in treatment is going through, and the boundaries that the family needs to put in place. With a fine touch, Carol Anne is able to promote connection and facilitate the revitalization of family relationships.

Carol Anne is available for a free consultation over the phone, and follow-up counselling, either in person or online via video conference, for a fee.
