Calista Switzer, BMT
Calista Switzer is a highly trained music therapist and musician who graduated from the Bachelor Music Therapy program at Capilano University. With more than 20 years of musical experience, she was inspired to combine her background in psychology with the power of music to facilitate healing and change in the recovery process. Here at TWC, she works closely with music to identify personal goals for each client that focus on therapeutic self-expression, strengthening identity and emotional awareness. Calista uses a humanistic trauma-informed approach to help individuals achieve their goals in recovery. In a group setting music is used to build healthy relationships and community with peers through powerful shared musical experiences.
“Music can be experienced as a higher power and can be a source of soul medicine if you let it.”
