Awakenings

Empowering Sobriety

What makes awakenings unique?

The TWC Awakenings Program believes everyone deserves another chance and a fresh start. Built on a foundation of empathy, care, understanding, and safety, Awakenings is a directive program where we empower residents in a scheduled, structured, supportive environment that promotes the values of unity, vulnerability, routine, and trust.

As residents begin their recovery journey, they are introduced to a group setting that encourages participation and commitment to a community approach to recovery. Each person is given the opportunity to gather in a safe space and realize that there is strength in numbers. By building and staying connected to this recovery community, Awakenings alumni can succeed in all personal and professional areas.

Our approach

One of the fundamental aspects of Awakenings is the understanding that every client is on their journey. Every individual has unique skills and assets to contribute that boost confidence and self-esteem. Residents of Awakenings are given another chance to overcome hurdles and learn their significance in our society.

Our goal is simple: we seek to help each participant reach their full potential. Each person has access to a motivated and understanding team of professionals that helps educate them on new life skills, coping mechanisms, and conflict resolution tools. These instruments equip each participant to gain lived experience in their interpersonal communications, work environments, and family settings.

Modalities

The professional staff at Awakenings use a 12-step-based modality mixed with CBT and DBT therapy. This is reflected in the daily groups, experiential therapy, team recreation, and one-on-one sessions.

Each person participates in daily morning reflection, life skills development, and five weekly intensive group sessions that provide an opportunity to address addiction issues and track their progress in their recovery plan. Daily attendance at 12-Step meetings builds the foundation for their ongoing long-term recovery.
